Embedding a Facebook feed

Getting Facebook embed code

  1. Visit the Facebook plugin generator page.
  2. Facebook Page URL: Paste in the URL/Address of the facebook page.
  3. It is recommended to set a Height restriction on the feed to prevent it from getting too longAround 700px is a good place to start.  Selecting the Adapt to plugin container width option will make the code attempt to respond to the space available for the area the code is being embedded. For best results, finding the max width of the container where the embed will be placed can be helpful. Using browser inspection tools can help determine the size of the container on a website's page, or contact support@foxbright.com for assistance
  4. Use the other provided options to style the feed as desired and click the Get Code button.
  5. Facebook will generate 2 codes to place on the website.

Other social medias

If other social medias provide an embed code, they should be able to be added using a plain text block on a page. Some feeds such as Instagram do not provide native embed codes. There are 3rd party aggregators that can be used for special embed situations and can also be used to combine platforms to create one feed for multiple platforms. Several Foxbright clients have had good results using the Juicer platform for social media aggrigation.

Juicer

Juicer.io is a 3rd party tool that combines multiple social media feeds into a single feed.  Juicer is available for free or can be purchased to add more options. When using Juicer, it is recommended to use the Shared Script option to add the feed to a webpage. In addition, the default Juicer script will break the Foxbright CMS Editor on the page, so please be sure to read this article, What to do if Juicer breaks your website page and update the feed as suggested before adding to a page.
Only Web Administrators or users with permission to Shared Scripts can add a new shared script. Contact support@foxbright.com with any questions.
