Introduction to Spotlights

Introduction to Spotlights

The Spotlights feature is a great way to highlight important information on a website. Often used on district or building home pages, Spotlights typically contain a title, brief description, thumbnail sized photo or icon, and a link to either a file or URL for more information.

While the spotlights block contains options to customize the display of the spotlight group, many sites have additional styling added to specific spotlight areas. Think stylized buttons with hover effects or color changes. This styling can be coordinated between web administrators and Foxbright designers.

Individual spotlights can be shared with multiple spotlight groups. Some popular examples of Spotlight contents include but aren't limited to:

  • Registrations/Enrollment
  • Calendars
  • Lunch Menus
  • Newsletter Subscriptions
  • Link to School Closing Resources
  • Transcript Requests

Process for creating and adding spotlights to a page:

  1. Create a Spotlight Group
  2. Add one or more Spotlights to the Spotlight Group
  3. Placing the Spotlight Group on a page
